Gmail for Android, iOS Now Lets You Disable 'Conversation View
Highlights :-
- Gmail now lets mobile users turn off the 'Conversation view'
- The new update is available for Android and iOS devices both.
- It will be rolled out globally over the next 15 coming days.
The New GMail Update
For Android and iOS, Gmail now has the option to turn off 'Conversation View', in which multiple emails are combined under one thread. After updating slowly through a server-side update, you do not have to wait for the Gmail app update on your Android or iOS device to get a new experience. It will be available to all users globally in the next 15 days.
Attachment with the Email
Specifically, Gmail on the Web already offers the option to disable the conversation view. This helps primarily find an attachment from an email conversation because you do not need to go through the entire conversation thread, to see which email contains the necessary attachments. Although grouped emails help reduce the list of new email, if multiple emails are being distributed under the same topic.
G. Suit Team
While announcing the new Gmail update, the G. Suit team writes in the blog post, "In Gmail, the responses to emails are grouped in the 'conversation' so that they can be easy to digest and follow." However, Some users prefer to list each of their emails individually in their inbox. This is possible on the web by toggling 'Conversation View' to the settings menu. Now we are bringing this feature into Android and iOS apps. "
Users who stopped conversation
Users who have stopped the conversation view on the Web will not be able to see email threads on their Gmail app. Alternatively, you can disable grouped email by unchecking the conversation view option after going to Settings> General settings.
Although Google has confirmed that the update will roll slowly to all users in the next 15 days, you are recommended to install the latest Gmail app version on your Android and iOS device to make the conversation view optional. We were able to see changes on our Android and iOS devices.
